Active Central MN’s mission is to promote wellbeing through community-wide support of healthy, active lives. As a St. Cloud, Minnesota-based nonprofit, we envision a year-round series of fitness experiences: active people enjoying Minnesota’s great outdoors, leading healthy lives, and contributing to a vibrant community.
Active Central MN was incorporated in 2018 with support from founding partners who provided early and significant funding to launch and sustain the organization, including Rollga, Viking Coca-Cola, Williams Integracare, and Granite Partners.
Prior to Active Central MN, Graniteman, Inc. initiated and managed the Graniteman Triathlon series beginning in 2004. Graniteman was a for-profit corporation that later transitioned to a non-profit structure to engage a broader network of community organizations. In 2019, Graniteman transitioned its brand and assets to Active Central MN.
In 2020, the Apple Duathlon transitioned its brand, assets, and operations to Active Central MN to sustain its legacy. In 2021, CentraCare contracted with Active Central MN to manage the Earth Day series. Today, Active Central MN manages this five-event series and is positioned to deliver and promote additional active lifestyle events throughout the year.

Rick Bauerly serves as board chair, and Brad Konkler serves as director on the Active Central MN board, guiding overall governance.

The Active Central MN team is augmented by key external partners. Brad Pickle, of Pickle Events, manages timing services and Jerry MacNeil serves as announcer for all race events. RunSignup.com provides secure, online registration for all Active Central MN events.
